Pointer Story Test
Ø The 4th Psychological test, after Word Association Test, Sentence
Completion Test and Picture Story Writing Test is the Pointer Story Writing
Test.
Ø In ISSB Pointer Story Writing Test, an incomplete story of 2 lines
will be given to the candidates for a short period of time and you have to
complete the story.
Ø Total 2 pointer stories will be presented to candidates. These 2
pointer stories will consist of incomplete sentences containing maximum 2
lines.
Ø The time allotted for one pointer story is 30 seconds. For 30
seconds a pointer story will be displayed on the screens and then 30 more
seconds will be given to you to think about a story. Just like the Picture
Story Writing Test, 3.5 minutes will be given to you to write down a story. The
same procedure will be repeated for the second pointer story.

Story Writing Tips
Ø Read the given incomplete story carefully.
Ø In the 30 seconds, think about an idea in your mind to complete the
story.
Ø Your story must be related to the incomplete story shown to you.
Ø Start your story from the last word of the given pointer story.
Ø There must be continuity between the given incomplete story and
your written complete story.
Ø Do not copy other’s ideas.
Ø Think two different themes for the two different pointer stories.
Ø Try to give a new concept which you have not written in the
previous Picture Story Writing test.
Ø Manage your time wisely.
Ø Practice Pointer Story Writing before going for ISSB.
